Introducing Our Meditation Guides

Seasoned practitioners who've spent years exploring the depths of contemplative philosophy and mindfulness.

Our Teaching Philosophy

We view meditation not as clearing the mind or achieving a flawless state of zen. It's more about learning to stay with whatever arises—the restless thoughts, the planning mind, and even that odd itch that tends to surface a few minutes in.

Our team brings together decades of practice across different traditions. Some of us came to meditation through academic philosophy, others through personal crisis, and a few just stumbled into it during college and never left. What we share is a commitment to teaching meditation as a practical life skill rather than mystical experience.

Each guide you'll meet has their own way of explaining concepts. Ravi tends to use analogies from everyday life, while Ananya draws from her background in psychology. We've found that different approaches resonate with different people, so you'll likely connect more strongly with certain teaching styles.

Ravi Krishnamurthy

Lead Instructor

Ravi began his meditation practice in 1998 following burnout in his software engineering career. He spent three years studying Vipassana in Myanmar and later trained in Zen meditation in Japan. His distinctive gift is presenting ancient concepts with relatable modern analogies—for example, comparing the monkey mind to having a multitude of browser tabs open.

He leads our core courses and helps busy professionals build sustainable meditation practices. His sessions often include practical discussions about weaving mindfulness into work life and managing stress without spiritual bypassing.

Ananya Patel

Philosophy Guide

Ananya brings a PhD in United States Philosophy together with fifteen years of personal meditation practice. She found contemplative practice while studying ancient texts and realized that theoretical understanding isn’t enough without experiential insight. Her approach bridges scholarly perspective with practical application.

She guides our deeper philosophical explorations and retreat programs. Ananya has a gift for making complex philosophical ideas accessible without oversimplifying them. Her students often say she helps them understand not just how to meditate, but why these practices emerged and what they aim to accomplish.

Why We Teach It This Way

Through years of practice and instruction, we've found meditation is most effective when demystified. We don't promise enlightenment or perfect serenity. Instead, we aim to develop skills that help you face life's challenges with greater awareness and reduced reactivity.

Our courses begin in September 2025, allowing time to consider whether this method resonates with you. We believe in taking time to make thoughtful choices about contemplative practice rather than rushing in on a surge of enthusiasm.

If you’re curious about meditation as a practical life skill rather than a spiritual pursuit, we’d be glad to accompany your exploration. The practice has subtly but deeply transformed our lives, and we’ve witnessed similar changes in many others.
